The policy provides coverage to participants and their family members when they are on vacation in Malaysia or overseas.

Its chief executive officer Md Azmi Abu Bakar said the new product, under the general takaful business, presents an opportunity for everyone to participate as the contribution amount can go as low as RM10.

The scheme coverage includes death by accident and permanent disablement, with benefit amounting to RM10,000 for the participant and RM5,000 for spouse, child and parents, including hospital allowance, he said at the launch of the product in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

The scheme also covers loss of participants' household belongings in the event of a break-in while on vacation.

The period of coverage can be for 15 days, 30 days and 45 days.

Md Azmi said the scheme is unique in that it is a combination of coverage for participants, family members and for loss of household belongings while away on vacation.

It is suitable for all types of vacations and holidays.

Those who wish to join the scheme can sign up at any Takaful Malaysia branches nationwide or use the short messaging system.
